In April 2006 Joanne was elected by the Council to join the newly formed Shadow Board For Housing Options. This is seeing over the stock transfer of Housing from the Council to a Housing Association. Because she has taken over this extra responsibility she has had to stand down from three of the other committees she was on, which are: Halstead Hospital League Of Friends, The River Colne Countryside Project & The District Development Committee.
She said "It is such a shame as I have enjoyed very much being involved with these Committees. I just would not have been able to give them my full attention. What with running my own business & having at least 2 queries a day from people in my District about things such as planning, vandalism, Roads & Stanstead Airport, there is only so much one can do & concentrate on." |
